The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and AIUI, the company that operates inseam. They apply when you use the website, the web app, the inseam apps and command line tools, or the inseam API (together, “inseam”).

When you create an account or use inseam, you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If you use inseam for an organisation, you accept these terms for that organisation, and you confirm that you have the authority to do so.

The service

inseam connects your devices and the services where your data lives (your hosts) into a network. It indexes what is on your hosts, so that you and the AI agents you approve can search it and read it in one place.

inseam is in development. Features can change, appear or go away, and the service can be unavailable at times. We will tell you in advance about changes that remove a feature you pay for.

Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use inseam.
  • Give us an email address that you control, and keep it current. We send sign-in links and important notices there.
  • Keep your devices, passkeys and email account secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account and your networks.
  • Tell us at once at hello@inseam.io if you think someone else has access to your account.

Your data

You own your data: the objects on your hosts, the files on your pad, and the index of them. These terms give us no ownership of it.

You give AIUI permission to access, process, store and transmit your data only as needed to provide inseam to you and the people and agents you grant access to, to keep it secure, and to obey the law. This permission ends when you delete the data or your account, except for copies we must keep by law. The privacy policy says exactly what we keep and for how long.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

You are responsible for your data and for having the right to connect it. Keep your own copies of anything important: inseam indexes your hosts, but it is not a backup of them.

Hosts and other services

When you connect a service such as Gmail, Google Drive or GitHub, you authorise inseam to access it on your behalf, with the permissions you approve. That service’s own terms continue to apply between you and its provider. We are not responsible for other services, for what they do with your data, or for changes they make that stop a connection from working.

Connect only accounts and data that you are allowed to connect. If you connect data that belongs to other people, such as a shared mailbox or a company drive, make sure that you have permission.

Agents and connectors

  • Agents. You choose which AI agents can use your network, and what each one may read or write. An agent acts on your behalf, and you are responsible for what it does with the access you give it. What an agent reads goes to that agent’s provider, under that provider’s terms. You can revoke an agent at any time.
  • Writes. If you give an agent or a tool write access, inseam will make the changes it asks for on your hosts. Check what you grant.
  • Connectors. Connectors are the programs that read a host. Some are written by AI or by other people. Each runs in a sandbox and can reach only the addresses you approve. We review the connectors we publish, but we do not guarantee that a connector reads a host fully or correctly.

Acceptable use

Do not use inseam to:

  • break the law, or help someone else break it;
  • access data, accounts or systems that you are not allowed to access;
  • store or share content that is illegal, that exploits children, or that infringes the rights of others;
  • send spam or malware, or attack any system, including inseam;
  • get around the limits of your plan, the sandbox, or our security controls;
  • make an unusual load on the service, or scrape it, other than through the API as documented;
  • resell inseam, or offer it as a service to others, without a written agreement with us.

We can remove content or limit access when we believe these rules are broken.

Plans and payment

  • Plans. inseam has a free plan and paid plans. The current limits and prices are on the plans and billing page. Limits marked “fair use” are there to keep the service working for everyone.
  • Payment. Stripe processes payments. A paid plan is billed in advance each month and renews automatically until you cancel. Prices do not include taxes; we add them where the law requires.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your network page. Your network returns to the free plan at the end of the period you paid for. If it then holds more than the free limit, new items wait to be indexed; we do not delete anything because of a downgrade.
  • Refunds. Payments are not refundable, except where the law requires it or where we decide otherwise.
  • Price changes. We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change applies to you. If you do not accept it, cancel before it takes effect.
  • Failed payments. If a payment fails and is not fixed, we can move the network to the free plan.

Our rights

inseam, its software, its name and its logos belong to AIUI. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use inseam under these terms while your account is active. Do not copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the software, except where the law allows it.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or feedback, we can use them without payment or obligation to you.

Ending the agreement

  • You can stop using inseam and delete your account at any time.
  • We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if your use puts the service or other users at risk, or if the law requires it. Where we can, we will warn you first and give you time to fix the problem.
  • We can stop offering inseam. If we do, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance and refund any amount you paid for the time after it stops.

When the agreement ends, we delete your data as the privacy policy describes. Your data on your hosts is not affected. The sections on your data, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and general terms continue to apply.

Disclaimers

inseam is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, AIUI makes no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that inseam will be uninterrupted or free of errors, that search results will be complete, or that an AI agent will use your data correctly.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • AIUI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, even if we knew they were possible.
  • AIUI’s total liability for all claims about inseam is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 100 US dollars.

Some places do not allow these limits. There, they apply only as far as the law permits. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Indemnity

If a third party makes a claim against AIUI because of your data, your use of inseam, or your breach of these terms, you will cover the reasonable costs of that claim, to the extent the law allows.

Changes to these terms

We will post every change on this page and change the date at the top. If a change is material, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you continue to use inseam after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, stop using inseam and delete your account.

General

  • These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and AIUI about inseam. A separate written agreement signed by both of us takes priority over them.
  • If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • If we do not enforce a term at once, we do not give up the right to enforce it later.
  • You cannot transfer this agreement without our consent. We can transfer it to a company that takes over inseam.
  • We send notices to the email address on your account. You send notices to hello@inseam.io.
